Map every free, official way to find lost money in the UK on one page

Somewhere between £15bn and £50bn sits unclaimed in UK dormant accounts, pensions, Premium Bonds and old policies. Free tools exist, such as My Lost Account, the Pension Tracing Service and NS&I, but they are scattered, and people pay for searches they never needed. Find them all and put them in one honest checklist.

A solution must include

  1. Covers at least bank accounts, pensions, Premium Bonds, shares, insurance, Child Trust Funds and tax refunds
  2. Free and official services first, with any paid service clearly labelled
  3. Each entry says what it finds, what you need, how long it takes, and links to it
  4. Warns about scam lookalike services
  5. Every link checked, with a checked-on date
