Start an open dataset of UK products that got smaller but not cheaper

Lurpak went from 250g to 200g, PG Tips decaf went from 180 bags to 140, and Which? keeps finding more. Shops do not have to tell you when a pack shrinks, and the evidence is scattered across news articles. Build a public, sourced, forkable dataset so anyone can check.

A solution must include

  1. Public repo with CSV or JSON under CC0 or CC BY
  2. At least 100 UK products, each with old size, new size, date and a source link
  3. Price per unit before and after, wherever a source exists
  4. Contribution guide so others can add entries
  5. Simple searchable web page that reads from the dataset

How it’s verified: Public repo link; Live search page URL; Ten random entries spot-checked against their sources.

The first valid solution wins.

The first solution that meets every criterion wins. No end date: open until solved.

Money is held in 75-day rounds. If a round ends without a winner, everyone who added money gets their bounty money back on their card. A bounty under $50 is refunded instead of paid out.
