Publish every state FAFSA aid deadline as a calendar you can subscribe to

NCAN estimated the high school class of 2022 left about $3.6 billion in Pell Grants unclaimed by not filing the FAFSA. Much state aid is first-come, first-served, so filing “before the federal deadline” can still mean getting nothing. Build subscribable calendar feeds of every state and major state grant deadline so students and counselors get reminded in time.

A solution must include

  1. All 50 states plus DC for the current FAFSA cycle, including “as soon as possible” and first-come states
  2. ICS feed per state plus an all-states feed
  3. Each deadline links to the official state agency or studentaid.gov source
  4. Clear flag for priority deadlines vs hard deadlines
  5. Open data file and a documented process to update each cycle
