Map where you can text 911 in the US, county by county

Texting 911 can be a lifeline for Deaf people or anyone who can’t safely speak, but support depends on which local 911 center you reach. The FCC publishes a registry of ready centers, but it’s a spreadsheet nobody browses. Turn it into a simple map and lookup that answers “can I text 911 here?”

A solution must include

  1. Built from the official FCC Text-to-911 PSAP registry, with the data date shown
  2. Search by address, zip or county
  3. Shows supported, not listed, or unknown, with the “call if you can, text if you can’t” guidance
  4. Accessible: WCAG 2.1 AA, screen-reader tested
  5. Script to refresh when the FCC updates the file
